Like other Turner models it uses the DW-Link suspension system which has proven over the years to be one of the best available. The KS link drives the shock directly with the rear triangle whereas the DW link bikes generally drive the shock with the upper linkage arm.

That superb dw-link rear end keeps the rear wheel firmly planted and pedals with nary a. We were a pretty good match in size and ability and were only slowed down while switching bikes by having different pedal preferences. According to Pivot the Mach 429 Trail has 116mm of DW-link suspension which feels like a 100mm bike when climbing and a 130mm bike when descending It doesnt have as much travel as some of the bikes we demoed so perhaps its not fair to judge it against them.
